FAQs
Questions come up that we haven’t thought about. No question or concern is silly. I understand taking time for yourself through coaching or events can be a major commitment and stepping away from your family, work and all other obligations can be a challenge. I am here to walk you through it every step of the way because YOU are important.
Life Coaching FAQ
What is life coaching?
Life coaching is a forward-focused, structured partnership designed to help you gain clarity, alignment, and intentional direction in your life. Its a means for transformation into a life with purpose, balance, and meaning.
It is not therapy. It is not legal consulting. It is not productivity hacking.
It is space. Space to think clearly. Space to decide intentionally. Space to build a life that honors both your ambition and your motherhood.
How is life coaching different than therapy
Coaching and therapy are both powerful, and I strongly encourage both. But they serve different purposes.
Therapy is a clinical service provided by licensed professionals and can include diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, processing trauma, and supporting emotional healing.
Coaching is not clinical care. It does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
Coaching is a growth-oriented partnership designed to help you clarify what matters most, make aligned decisions, and move intentionally toward the life and leadership you want to create.
In coaching, we focus on:
- Identity integration (lawyer + mother + woman)
- Decision-making aligned with your values
- Boundaries and capacity
- Leadership growth
- Nervous system awareness
- Sustainable ambition
Who is coaching for?
Coaching is for trial lawyer moms who:
• Feel successful but unsettled
• Love the courtroom but feel the tension at home
• Carry constant mental load and empathy fatigue
• Want to lead without burning out
• Are navigating identity shifts after children
• Feel guilty no matter where they are
• Feeling stuck in their career
You do not have to be in crisis. Many of my clients are high-functioning, high-achieving women who simply know there must be a more integrated way to live.
What do we actually do in a session?
Sessions are structured but spacious. Depending on what you need, we may work on:
• Values clarification
• Identity integration work
• Leadership and boundaries
• Work-family tension navigation
• Decision frameworks
• Nervous system regulation tools
• “Letters to self” or reflective exercises
• Strategic planning aligned with your season of life
You will leave with clarity and a different way to approach life. Its not just inspiration.
Is this career coaching?
It may be depending on where you feel stuck. As trial lawyers, we carry many roles and looking into where you are in your career and whether it is in alignment with your values may be a sticking point that coaching can help with. Not exactly.
This coaching focuses on YOU— the woman inside the lawyer.
Clarity in your identity, and where you are in your career, often dramatically improves your leadership, motivation, and empowerment.
What results can I expect?
Coaching is not a quick fix. It requires doing the work. The goal is to:
• Increased clarity in decisions
• Reduced guilt
• Stronger boundaries
• More present motherhood
• More grounded leadership
• Less internal tension
• Greater confidence in defining success on their own terms
The outcome is not “doing less.” It is doing what matters — on purpose.
I’m already extremely capable. Why would I need a coach?
Coaching forces you off the conveyor belt. High-achieving women are often the last ones to receive support. I am sure you have responded to the question of “How do you do it all” with “I just do it”. You are likely the person everyone else leans on.
Coaching is where you get to lean.
Even the most seasoned trial lawyers prepare before stepping into a courtroom.
This is preparation for your life.
How often do we meet?
Depending on the type of coaching, you can expect to meet 1-2 times a month.
Is it confidential?
Yes. Coaching conversations are private and confidential, with limited exceptions required by law.
This is a safe, professional space.
What if I don’t have time?
That question alone tells me you probably need it. We don’t find time. We decide what matters.
And often, one hour of intentional reflection creates capacity that scattered thinking never could.
How do I know if this is right for me?
If something inside you reads this and exhales — it may be time. Coaching truly is not for everyone, and that is OK.
I offer an initial connection call to explore fit, goals, and readiness.
What makes this different from other coaching?
This space is built by a trial lawyer mom for trial lawyer moms.
I understand:
• The adrenaline of trial
• The guilt of being away
• The identity tied to winning
• The loneliness at the top
• The culture of strength in litigation
• The weight of holding clients’ trauma
• The invisible labor of motherhood
You will not need to explain that tension here.
I live it too.
